‘Escondido’ means hidden...
Some clever guys developed a line of 'hiddens'...small portions with yucca cream and some protein hidden with ‘au gratin’...
It has become a national thing...and now a number of restaurants have their versions.
The most famous ones are ' shrimp and dried beef'....
They can be enough for one or two...and it goes well with almost any drink.
I prefer with 'caipirinha and beer'...
I think 'Academia da Cachaça' made them famous...and it is true that they do a wonderful one!!!
