I was traveling a great deal to America before moving to Miami in 1996. My wife and I would spend two months going around, mostly driving. We had a party!!!
Everything was nice to us, despite the simplicity. Some days we could spend hours walking in a small town trying to see the locals and their lives.
It was around these period that I got to know Hooters.
Nobody can say that it does not make an impression.

It is just too crazy to see those girls in mini shorts and tiny t-shirts with those big….you know!!!
From the first impact until you make the decision to take a place and enjoy the view, it takes a while...like five seconds!!!
I am a restaurant guy, so everything about restaurants is of major interest to me, especially when it is so unusual.
I recall my first visit at Coconut Grove, Miami.
Very casual place; simple décor; and ‘the girls’.
They are very professional in the way they introduce you to the concept. One led us to the table and gave the regular introduction to the restaurant. She left us with a couple of menus and drove her ‘everything’ away for a couple of minutes.
We were having fun...there were not that many people there at the hour we were in. When I went over the menu I did not find so many options.
Chicken wings???
Ok...we did order beer and some whatever...
She came back with a jar...we were outside in the sun.
When I saw that thing I thought: maybe she thinks we are heavy drinkers, although my wife and I are not really the drunk couple type.
She served us with a plastic glass and left the jar sitting on the sun.
I could not drink a second glass...that hot beer would have given me the worst headache ever!!!
I love America...but never will drink beer served in a jar in my life again!!!
As for the girls, sometimes I wake up, 3 in the morning, with that huge thing chasing me...big, really big!!!
